Description

Delightful heart-shaped pastries filled with cream cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of store-bought puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter or knife.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each heart and spread gently.
  6. Generously arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese.
  7. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the filling, sealing them securely.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a variation, try using different fruits like blueberries or peaches. Make-ahead by preparing the filling in advance.
