Description

A warm, creamy Spinach Quiche with a flaky crust, perfect for brunch or light dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 4 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 onion (optional, chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (optional, minced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and place it into a pie dish.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté chopped onion and garlic until soft.
  4. Add the spinach to the skillet and cook just until wilted.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  6. Spread the sautéed spinach mixture into the crust and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the spinach and cheese.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until set and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
