Description

A heartwarming dish of spiced minced meat and creamy potatoes that’s perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 500g ground meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
  • 2 large potatoes, diced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 23 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once shimmering, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Sauté onions until translucent, stirring occasionally.
  3. Incorporate the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cooking for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add the tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften.
  5. Brown the minced meat until thoroughly cooked and fragrant.
  6. Mix in the diced potatoes, folding them gently into the meat mixture.
  7. Pour in enough water to cover the potatoes and bring to a boil.
  8. Simmer covered until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 20-25 minutes.
  9. Finish with garam masala just before serving and garnish with fresh coriander.
