Description

Delicate meringue cookies that are light as air, featuring semi-sweet chocolate chips for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl until frothy.
  3. Add the cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually incorporate the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until stiff peaks form.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula.
  7. Drop dollops of meringue onto the prepared baking sheet using a piping bag or a spoon.
  8. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until dry and crisp.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool completely in the oven.
