Description

Delightfully tangy lemon brownies that offer a refreshing twist on the classic dessert, perfect for any gathering or leisurely afternoon.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir thoroughly.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. While baking, mix powdered sugar and lemon juice for the glaze.
  9. Allow brownies to cool fully, then drizzle with glaze.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.
