- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- For the Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×9-inch baking dish by greasing it with nonstick spray or melted butter.
- Cube the cinnamon swirl bread into 2.5 cm cubes and spread evenly in the dish.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring each piece is coated. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Make the caramel sauce by combining sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until dissolved. Cook without stirring until it turns amber. Add butter, cream, salt, and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
- Serve the warm bread pudding drizzled with caramel sauce.
Notes
For the best texture, use slightly stale bread and allow it to soak overnight for deeper flavors.
