Description

Indulge in these sweet, gooey bars that transform classic cinnamon rolls into decadent, shareable treats with a rich cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon; stir in the melted butter.
  8. Spoon the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter in the pan.
  9. Top with the remaining batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  12. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter together, then mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Add milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  13. Frost the cooled bars, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

Ensure that butter is softened for best texture, and allow bars to cool completely before frosting.
