Description

Delicious baked apple fritters that combine the natural sweetness of apples with warm spices for a comforting fall treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium tart apples (diced)

  • 1/2 cup milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until blended.
  4. Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Use a spoon to drop generous spoonfuls of batter onto a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the fritters once slightly cooled.

Notes

These fritters can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator. Consider using an air fryer for a quicker version.
