Delicious brownies that combine the comforting qualities of banana bread with the rich, fudgy texture of brownies, featuring crunchy walnuts and gooey mini chocolate chips.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup melted unsalted butter
- 2 large room-temperature eggs
- 3–4 medium ripe bananas
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix the granulated sugar and melted butter in a mixing bowl until smooth and glossy.
- Add the eggs one by one, whisking well after each addition.
- Incorporate the mashed bananas gently into the mixture.
- Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually incorporate this into the wet ingredients.
- Add the chopped walnuts and mini chocolate chips, folding them in evenly.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the brownies in the pan before cutting them into squares.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for best taste.
