Description

A rich and comforting dish featuring creamy tomato sauce, garlic, and fresh basil, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 1 cup ripe tomatoes (diced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine, cooking until al dente per package instructions. Drain and set aside, retaining some pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until golden brown.
  3. Add diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for about five minutes until tomatoes soften and release juices.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream, blending until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Toss cooked pasta into the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and optional Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Make the sauce ahead of time to save on prep. Customize with proteins or veggies as desired.
