- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy (5-7 minutes), then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Sear chicken in the skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side.
- Drizzle barbecue sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
- Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh green onions, and serve.
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Season chicken earlier in the day. You can also use an air fryer for a quicker method.
