Description

A flavor-packed chicken dish with crispy bacon, melted cheddar cheese, and tangy barbecue sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy (5-7 minutes), then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Sear chicken in the skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Drizzle barbecue sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  6. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh green onions, and serve.
  8. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Season chicken earlier in the day. You can also use an air fryer for a quicker method.
