Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Filling of choice (chocolate chips, fruit preserves, etc.)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until a soft dough forms.
  6. Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
  7. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.
