- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the granulated sugar until smooth.
- Remove from heat, add eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gently stir into the butter mixture until just blended.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely in the pan.
- Whip heavy cream in a bowl until soft peaks form.
- Melt chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, then let cool slightly.
- Fold melted chocolate into whipped cream until combined.
- Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies.
- For the ganache, melt additional chocolate with cream and pour over mousse once cooled.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
For a decorative touch, dust with cocoa powder or powdered sugar before serving. Pair with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.
