Description
A comforting dish featuring bowtie pasta coated in a creamy garlic sauce with Cajun-spiced ground beef.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces bowtie pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and cook the bowtie pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. After about 5 minutes, add the Cajun seasoning and set the beef aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the heavy cream, simmer for 3-4 minutes, then stir in the cheddar and Parmesan until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the beef back to the skillet along with the cooked pasta, tossing to coat. If too thick, loosen with reserved pasta water. Finish with parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lighter dish, substitute ground beef with turkey or plant-based crumbles. You can also use milk instead of heavy cream for a thinner sauce.
