Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups frozen French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Optional toppings: pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, ranch dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the frozen French fries.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the fries.
  6. Top with the remaining fries and sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and fries are golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving, then garnish with optional toppings.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the beef mixture a day before and assemble it for baking. You can also air fry the casserole for a quicker cooking option.
