- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups frozen French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, ranch dressing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Add ketchup and mustard, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the frozen French fries.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly over the fries.
- Top with the remaining fries and sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and fries are golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving, then garnish with optional toppings.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare the beef mixture a day before and assemble it for baking. You can also air fry the casserole for a quicker cooking option.
