Description

A stunning dessert that layers fresh strawberries, creamy vanilla pudding, and light angel food cake for a delightful experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 box angel food cake mix (or 1 prepared angel food cake)
  • 1 1/4 cups water (for cake mix, if using)
  • 56 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 package vanilla instant pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • Whipped cream or Cool Whip (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the angel food cake according to the package directions. Once baked, allow it to cool completely before cutting.
  2. Toss the sliced strawberries with sugar in a bowl. Let them sit for 15-20 minutes until they release their juices and become syrupy.
  3. Whisk the vanilla pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes. Let it stand for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. In your trifle dish, start with half of the cake cubes at the bottom. Spread half of the pudding over the cake layer.
  5. Next, spoon half of the strawberries along with a drizzle of the syrup over the pudding.
  6. Repeat the layers: add the remaining cake cubes, followed by the rest of the pudding, and finish with the remaining strawberries on top.
  7. If you’re feeling indulgent, add a layer of whipped cream at this stage.
  8. Cover your trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes.

Notes

Assemble the trifle a day in advance for the best flavor and texture. For an alternative method, consider making the angel food cake in an air fryer.
