Description

An enchanting dessert featuring warm, caramelized bananas topped with crunchy pecans and drizzled with rich caramel sauce, served over creamy vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp dark rum (optional)
  • 12 scoops vanilla ice cream, per serving
  • 23 tbsp caramel sauce
  • Extra pecans or banana chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until fragrant. Set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
  3. Add brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until bubbling.
  4. Add banana slices, cooking for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and rum, cooking for 1 additional minute.
  6. Add toasted pecans, mixing to coat in the caramel.
  7. Serve over vanilla ice cream, drizzling with caramel sauce and garnishing with extra pecans or banana chips.

Notes

You can prepare the pecans and slice the bananas in advance. Store in an airtight container. For a healthier version, you can use an air fryer.
