Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch in a bowl.
  3. Cream the room-temperature butter and both sugars together in a stand mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mix, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Chill the dough for at least one hour.
  8. Scoop large dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden around the edges and slightly underbaked in the center.

Notes

For extra flavor, chill the dough up to 24 hours. Experiment with different chocolate or add nuts for variety.
